Police, Montgomery County DA's Office Launch Sexting Investigation At High School

WHITEMARSH TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) --  Whitemarsh Township Police and the Montgomery County DA's Office are looking into a possible "sexting" incident at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School.
They say an anonymous parent called school officials on Wednesday, asking them to investigate an account on the file sharing site Dropbox that allegedly contained inappropriate photos of students.
Police were immediately contacted and met with several students as well as some of the school's staff.
Colonial School District has since posted a statement on its website that read, in part:
"The District has and will continue to fully cooperate with the police. Note that prior to the report of this incident, the high school had arranged for the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office to present assemblies to students on the inappropriate use of social media. Those sessions are scheduled for December 3 and 7."

Meanwhile, authorities say the Dropbox account has been shut down and that they're in the process of obtaining search warrants and subpoenas as the investigation is ongoing.

No one has been specifically named in the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Whitemarsh Township Police at 610-825-6530.
