Update: Defendant In Montco Arson Trial Testifies In Her Own Defense

LOWER POTTSGROVE, Pa. (CBS) --  In a shocking twist, the defendant in a Montgomery County arson case, accused of burning down the home of a police officer who lived next-door, took the stand in her own defense.

Donna Krupp testified she got home around 9:30 pm the night of the fire. She said she likely watched her recorded soap operas and fell asleep in her recliner, then eventually went up to bed at around 12:30 or 12:45 am.  She says the dog woke her and her husband up, and that's when they saw the fire.

Asked if she lit the fire, she testified, "No, I would never do that."

But Prosecutor Chris Daniels pounced on statements Krupp made to police that appear to conflict with her testimony.

For example, when questioned after the fire, Krupp told police she didn't harbor any ill will toward Detective Ernie Morris, despite multiple co-workers who testified that she constantly complained about Morris and often used expletives.

When Daniels asked Krupp if she lies when she is scared, she replied, "yes."

Daniels asked are you scared today, she replied "yes."
