Weather: One More Warm Up Before Temperatures Crash Down

By Steve Strouss

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The streak of November warmth will soon come to an end. We have one more brief warm up before temperatures crash this weekend.

A potent cold front, crossing the Tennessee Valley, will bring heavy rain to our region on Thursday accompanied by temperatures in the upper 60s and gusty winds. This will be followed by much cooler temperatures into early next week.

We expect .75-1.25" of rain with gusts up to 35 mph during the day Thursday with a rumble of thunder possible in some areas. Travel will be slow during both the AM and PM commutes because of ponding, reduced visibility and road spray so give yourself a little extra time as you head out the door tomorrow.

The system will sweep through quickly and we expect sunshine, breezy and cooler conditions by Friday.

Saturday will feature a reinforcement of cool air with some sunshine and by Sunday it will be brisk and cold with high temperatures only in the 40s. Bundle up if you're heading to the Eagles/Buccaneers game because wind chills Sunday will remain in the 30s.

Monday and Tuesday will be sunny and dry, but it will remain chilly.
