3 On Your Side: Holiday Shopping Tips

By Jim Donovan

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- We haven't even made it to Thanksgiving yet but chances are that holiday shoppers have not only made their lists, they've certainly checked them twice.  In fact as 3 On Your Side consumer reporter Jim Donovan finds, many of them have wasted no time in shopping.

'Tis the season to shop.

The National Retail Federation says more than half of holiday shoppers have already started buying gifts.

But according to the Adobe Digital Index, there's still time to shop and save.

The best time to buy based on price and product availability will vary.

This Saturday, November 21st will offer the largest, single-day price drop for toys, with an average discount of 18 percent.

Have a tech junkie on your list?

The best deals for electronics, 18 percent discount on average, will be offered this coming Monday, November 23rd.

Want something sparkly?  Jewelry discounts will peak at 25 percent on Thanksgiving Day.  Make sure you shop soon, because typically jewelry prices go up closer to the holidays.

If someone on your list needs clothes, you can wait.  Usually those big discounts happen the closer you get to the holidays.
