Passengers Return To Philadelphia From Paris

By Diana Rocco

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A Delaware couple is happy to be home Monday after a trip to Europe that got disrupted by the situation in Paris.

CBS 3 Eyewitness News spoke with the couple moments after they got off the plane from Paris.

Delaware natives Gail and Frank Kesselman are relieved to finally be back home after returning from a two-week trip to Europe.

"I want to go home and go see my grandkids," said Gail Kessleman.

Their flight from Paris landed at Philadelphia International Airport Monday afternoon.

"It's scary," said Frank Kesselman. "You know your heart goes out for them."

"We were told that right when we flew out that Paris was the safest airport was the safest place to be," said Gail.

They were on a river cruise scheduled to arrive in Paris Friday but after attacks rocked the city they were detoured and didn't arrive until a few hours before their flight.

"We ended up spending two days on buses and then getting to the hotels late," said Gail.

The three separate attacks were carried out by at least eight wearing identical suicide vests killing more than 129 and wounding hundreds.

Passengers coming in Monday say most are now glued to news reports there and worried for their own safety.

"It was difficult, it was sad what happened in France. I'm not from France but I'm from Ivory Coast in Africa so I speak French," said Stephane Bouedy.

Bouedy, a student at Community College of Philadelphia, was visiting friends in France for the weekend. He says the American support there has been felt.

"They're scared... So everything is back today, they have to go to school, they have to go to work," said Bouedy.
