Voter Turnout Expected To Be Low In Suburbs, But Many Choices On The Ballot

By Jim Melwert

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- There are no congressional or state legislature races on the ballots in the suburbs, but plenty of local offices on the line.

The race for Montgomery County district attorney between Republican and former DA Bruce Castor and Democrat and current first assistant DA Kevin Steele has grabbed headlines, after the Bill Cosby situation became a main issue.

The winner will also inherit the prosecution of Attorney General Kathleen Kane.

Chester county district attorney Tom Hogan has a challenge from attorney Tom Purl.

Delaware county DA Jack Whelan is running unopposed.

The boards of commissioners are up for election in Montgomery, Bucks, and Chester counties, along with county council in Delaware County.

Also highly contested races for common pleas court judges in Montgomery and Delaware counties.
