Delaware Readies For Saturday's Visit To Towson

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Delaware Blue Hens will travel down to Maryland this weekend for a Saturday afternoon Colonial Athletic Association match-up with Towson.

Delaware improved to 3-4 on the season (2-2 in the CAA) this past Saturday with an impressive 31-14 home win over New Hampshire.

"I just think the players had great resolve and competitive toughness," Delaware head coach Dave Brock tells KYW Newsradio. "We had a great opportunity with a really good program in town and an incredible crowd and environment. It was really electric, almost 20,000 people there on Parents Weekend. I thought the players just rose up and fed off the energy and just played a really, really physical, fast, tough game. Which was what we needed to do to win it."

The Blue Hens once again had the running game in high gear against UNH, finishing with 284 yards on the ground. Delaware also put together a dominant defensive effort, holding the Wildcats to just nine first downs and 183 yards of total offense.

Towson sits at 4-3 this season (2-2 in the CAA) and the Tigers are coming off a 28-21 win over Villanova, a game which featured the Tigers returning two interceptions for touchdowns.

"It's pretty typical Towson football," Brock says. "They're really physical on both sides of the ball."

Brock says there are really no secrets coming into this one.

"It's going to come down to a team that loves to run the ball and stop the run playing a team that loves to run the ball and stop the run," Brock says. "Those are the things that we're going to have to do a great job with to be successful. It's going to be a physical game."

Delaware will try to do something on Saturday they haven't done yet this season. Win on the road. The Blue Hens are 0-3 away from home in 2015.

Last year these two teams played in Newark, Towson picking up a 24-17 win.

Saturday's game will kickoff at 2:00pm.
