Delaware Returns From Bye To Host UNH Saturday

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Delaware Blue Hens return to the gridiron on Saturday afternoon as they welcome the University of New Hampshire to Newark.

The Blue Hens are 2-4 on the season (1-2 in Colonial Athletic Association) and coming off a bye week.

"We certainly needed it to get healthy," Delaware head coach Dave Brock tells KYW Newsradio. "We had a lot of guys really banged up and struggling physically. So, from that standpoint, it was valuable to us."

Delaware has five regular season games remaining and they are all conference match-ups. Brock says they know what they have to do to be successful down the stretch.

"We've got to try to play the style that we need to play," Brock says. "Take care of the football on offense and take it away on defense. Run the ball, stop the run."

UNH will bring a 3-3 record into Saturday's game (1-2 in the CAA). They are coming off a 34-18 loss to William & Mary. The Wildcats are one of the premier programs in all of FCS as they have qualified for the NCAA Tournament in each of the past 11 seasons.

"Every single player on their roster knows nothing but playoff appearances and winning," Brock says.

The Wildcats can move the football. They average more than 26 points a game.

"The quarterback's back, (senior Sean) Goldridge is healthy," Brock says. "They've got a really talented running back, great tight end. They're big, physical kids up front. And then they've got a great scheme."

Last year New Hampshire rolled Delaware, 43-14.

Saturday's game will kickoff at 3:30pm.
