Senator Urges Caution About Halloween Costume Cosmetics

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A U.S. Senator is urging parents to be cautious about what kind of makeup they put on their children this Halloween.

New York Senator Chuck Schumer says novelty makeup and face paints are often made in China and can contain metals, including lead, that could pose a danger to children wearing them.

The FDA does not conduct routine testing of novelty cosmetics, but Senator Schumer is calling for change.
