Reading Terminal Market Celebrates Fall With Harvest Festival
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The vendors at Reading Terminal Market ushered in the Fall season with their annual Harvest Festival Saturday.
"This is our 15th year," says festival co-founder Vinnie Iovine. ""I'm shocked myself that we've been doing it that long, it's really fun."
Iovine spent the day giving hayrides, driving a tractor around the market.
"We have probably over 50 people on there right now," he said while taking a break to speak with KYW Newsradio.
He says the Harvest Festival is one of their most popular events, and there was a lot to see, do and, of course, eat here on Filbert Street:
"Turkey legs, bacon on a stick, you have ribs, you have a beer garden."
Visitors described Filbert Street as looking like a farm:
"It looks very festive and colorful and it's bustling."
"I thought it was just going to be a bunch of families walking around with the hayride, but it's amazing! There's a lot of great food here and people from all over the city and outside."
"I like the corn stalks and the lights and I like this balloon bridge."
"Balloons and hay all down on the street. It really feels like I'm 10 years old and I'm at a pumpkin patch."
