Penn State Looks To Shock No. 1 Ohio State

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Penn State Nittany Lions will face a huge challenge at 8:00 on Saturday night as they travel to Columbus, Ohio, to take on the #1 team in the land and the defending national champions, the Ohio State Buckeyes. Ohio State will be wearing all black uniforms asking fans to black out the stadium, calling it "Dark Night in the Shoe."

The Nittany Lions are 5-1 this season. That opening game loss at the hand of the Temple Owls has been followed by five straight wins. Last time out, James Franklin's squad beat Indiana 29-7 to improve to 2-0 in the Big Ten. Their other conference win came over Rutgers.

Ohio State is 6-0 and also 2-0 in the Big Ten. Their conference victories have come at the expense of Indiana and Maryland.

Last season the Nittany Lions nearly pulled off an upset of the Buckeyes at Beaver Stadium. Penn State rallied from a 17-0 deficit to tie the game at 17 at the end of regulation. But the Nittany Lions eventually lost in double overtime, 31-24.

Ohio State leads the all-time series between these two programs, 17-13

KYW's Matt Leon spoke with Joe Juliano of the Philadelphia Inquirer about the Nittany Lions and the match-up with the Buckeyes.
