2nd Annual Old City Street Festival Features Local Business, Food, And Design

By Mike Dougherty

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) Streets near 3rd and Arch in Philadelphia were shut down Sunday for the 2nd annual Old City Street Festival.

Visitors here were treated with a beautiful and unseasonably warm October afternoon, and they made the most of it.

"It's awesome. I didn't really know what to expect actually coming down here," a festival goer said. "But it's a lot of fun. There's a lot of good things going on."

Old City district executive director Job Itzkowitz said they expected at least 15,000 people to show up.

"It's a celebration of everything Old City has to offer,"Itzkowitz said. "Food, design, retail, and almost all of our vendors here are located in Old City."

One of them is Aisha Loeks, who is happy for the opportunity to sell her handmade jewelry to new customers.

"And this is actually my main source of living," she said. "Being able to set up at festivals and markets, more so than online or wholesale."
