Wilmington Police Investigating After Young Girl Struck In Leg By Gunfire

WILMINGTON, D.E. (CBS) -- According to the Wilmington Police Department, an investigation is underway involving a shooting that occurred on Monday.

Officers responded to the 800 block of Bennett Street around 6:31 p.m. where they found a 6-year-old girl who had been shot in the right knee by gunfire.

Officials say the girl was attended to by officers on the scene and was transported to Wilmington Hospital. Authorities say the girl is in stable condition.
