Positively Philadelphia: Family Friendly Festival Taking Over Old City
By Lauren Lipton
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Mark your calendars for next Sunday!
"On October 11th from 12 to 6 p.m., we will be hosting our second annual Old City Fest," says Executive Director of the Old City District Job Itzkowitz.
He says the festival -- located at the intersection of 3rd and Arch Streets -- celebrates everything Old City has to offer:
"We have 100 vendors, all of whom are based in Old City. Restaurants, food and drink, music, art, a family friendly kid zone..."
He says the festival is for both adults and kids, as well as chocolate lovers:
"The Betsy Ross House will be participating in the festival, with a chocolate making demonstration dating back to colonial times."
So what's different about this festival?
"Sometimes you go to a festival and you say, 'oh, I saw that same vendor at another festival'," says Itzkowitz. "Our festival is made up from almost entirely all Old City vendors."
He adds what you see at this festival, you can see in Old City 365 a year.
