Philadelphia Police Announce Arrest Following Playground Vandalism

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Police have announced an arrest in connection to reported vandalism that occurred at the Daniel Boyle Playground at 13049 Kelvin Avenue on September 15.

According to police, the arrest was made on September 29 around 10:00 pm. Officials say Nicholas Holland, 19, was arrested at his residence on the 1700 block of Nathaniel Road.

Authorities say they responded to a call claiming that from the afternoon of September 14, until the morning of September 15, an unknown person was vandalizing the playground. According to officials, the investigation showed that several pieces of equipment were vandalized with graffiti and paint was taken from a storage shed at the playground and used during the vandalizing.

Holland faces charges of Criminal Conspiracy, Burglary, Criminal Trespass, Criminal Mischief, Institutional Vandalism and other related offenses.
