PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Sixers makeover in recent years has been called a lot of different things. Some of the names have not been the most flattering.
On Monday, the team took it in a direction that paid homage to the city's past and now the rebuild is a revolution.
The team released a new hype video on Monday as they held media day as well. "Revolution Is Our Name," juxtaposes the history of the franchise with that of the city, while also conjuring up imagery of a brighter tomorrow for the young crop of players.
For example, how about putting a Wilt Chamberlain block right next to a Nerlens Noel block? Or how about having Noel do his best Allen Iverson "Michael Jordan Crossover," impression?
It's hard not to be optimistic watching Jahlil Okafor slam a basketball followed up by a triumphant celebration from Charles Barkley.

The narrator of the video reminds us, "Philly doesn't follow convention." The line emphasizes the point that while the Sixers rebuild certainly has its skeptics, the team isn't trying to do something by the book.
In addition to releasing a new hype video, fans can now get their first glimpse of the players that will be representing them this season as media day photos were taken. Check out some of the best shots below:
The Sixers will open training camp on Tuesday, September 29 and it will run until Saturday, October 3.
