The Eagles' Good, Bad & Ugly

By Joseph Santoliquito

PHILADELPHIA, PA (CBS) — There was hardly anything good in the Eagles 20-10 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field.

The Good

Safety Malcom Jenkins played with energy and his fourth-quarter fumble recovery and 34-yard return gave the Eagles a glimmer of hope. The Eagles then gave the ball right back on the ensuing play when Sam Bradford was unaware of the snap and it bounced off his chest.

Kicker Cody Parkey hit a fourth-quarter 46-yard field goal, the only points the Eagles were able to muster until a late TD.

Linebacker Jordan Hicks had a sack, which caused a fumble in the third quarter. The hit also may have impacted the NFC East, since Tony Romo broke his left clavicle on the play. The Eagles, however, weren't able to do anything with it. Bradford threw an interception to Sean Lee in the end zone.

The Bad

Running back DeMarco Murray finished with 2 yards rushing on 13 carries. He was tentative each time he had the ball and appeared to be running in quick sand.

The Eagles' defensive line. They weren't able to put any pressure on Romo, who completed 18 of 27 for 195 yards, before leaving the game in the third quarter.

The Ugly

Coach Chip Kelly has been now out-coached the last two weeks. He had no answers for the Cowboys' defense. The Eagles' so-called rapid-fire offense has become quite clunky.

Quarterback Sam Bradford was downright ugly. The quarterback that the Eagles acquired for his quick release was again unsure and iffy. He finished completing

The Eagles offense in the first half. They did little in amassing a paltry 21 total yards of offense and just one first down. The Birds never crossed midfield and had minus-3 yards rushing. Bradford received little protection in completing 5-for-9, for 24 yards.

The Eagles offensive line couldn't protect Bradford. They couldn't open any holes, garnering minus-3 rushing in the first half.

Defensive end Vinny Curry had a rough sequence late in the first half. He jumped in the neutral zone, giving the Cowboys a first down. On the next play, Curry delivered a late hit on Jason Witten for a 15-yard personal foul call, which placed Dallas at the Eagles' 44.
