Week 2 DFS Advice

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The message after Week 1: Trust your instincts.

Trust you preseason rankings, opinions, and calls. Don't buy into the Week 1 hype. For example, you see Travis Kelce go for 6/106/2 in Week 1 then a more humble 4/58/0 last night, in Week 2.

Expect more of that.

Listen: Andrew Porter and Josh Collacchi  give their Week 2 DFS advice

Here are is your Week 2 fantasy advice, courtesy of myself and RotoCurve's Josh Collacchi.

QB Plays (Fan Duel/Draft Kings)

Drew Brees (8900/7800): At home vs. Tampa Bay. Enough said.

Tony Romo (8500/7100): Dallas has a suspect run game, going up against a tough Eagles front on the road, in a game that is expected to see a lot of points. Romo will need to throw.

QB Value Play

Sam Bradford (7500/6900): It's Vegas' highest o/u total at 55. There will be points. In the second half last week, Bradford was 21-25.

RB Plays

Marshawn Lynch (8500/7200): The Packers were gashed by Matt Forte last week. Expect Seattle to lean on Lynch on the road.

Justin Forsett (7800/6200): Cake matchup against Oakland. Baltimore is expected to play with lead. Better play for $6,200 in DraftKings because of point-per-reception format.

Mark Ingram (8000/5900): NO at home vs. TB. They should have lead. Ingram had nine catches too, with C.J. Spiller out last week. Keep an eye on Spiller's Week 2 status.

RB Value Plays

Tevin Coleman (6500/4500): 20 carries for 80 yards, for a rookie RB in Week 1, against a tough Eagles front. The Giants can't stop anybody. Ton of upside here.

Joique Bell (6100/4600): Everyone loves Ameer Abdullah. Fine. But Bell is still their bell cow and the goal line back.

Darren Sproles: (5600/3500): Better in DraftKings because of PPR, but high upside play with punt return capabilities in a high scoring game.

WR Plays

Julio Jones (8800/8900): Ready to become the NFL's best receiver. He's matchup proof, but the Giants definitely do not hurt his value.

Randall Cobb (8200/7400): Richard Sherman will be on the Green Bay outside WRs. Cobb should be moved around and in the slot a lot.

Alshon Jeffrey (8100/7500): Jeffrey caught 5/78 on 11 Week 1 targets, fighting a calf injury. He's now, hopefully, healthier and the Bears get the Cardinals at home. Vegas has the o/u at 46.

Mike Evans (8100/7400): Keep an eye on his status, but he is expected to play and he's a target monster in a game where TB will likely be trailing at New Orleans.

WR Value Plays

Eric Decker (6000/5100): If shutdown Colts corner Vontae Davis is on Brandon Marshall, Eric Decker will be the go-to guy for Ryan Fitzpatrick in a game where the Jets will likely be throwing.

Nelson Agholor (5700/5500): Agholor had just one catch and two targets in his debut. But he had Desmond Trufant on him all game. Agholor was on the field for 44 of the Eagles' 52 pass plays, so it's just a matter of time before he explodes.

TE Plays

Vernon Davis (5100/3000): Davis caught 3 balls for 47 yards on 6 targets last week, in a 17-3 SF win over the Vikings. SF ran, ran, ran, and just kept feeding Carlos Hyde and it worked. Still, Davis had some big gains. This week SF is at PIT. Should be more passing and Davis will be involved.

Jordan Reed (5000/3700): Jordan Reed is a target monster and safety blanket for Kirk Cousins. Reed had 7/63 on 11 targets in Week 1, and the Skins had just 10 points in a 17-10 loss. This week, Cousins will need his safety blanket more than ever against the Rams' dominant front.

DEF Plays

Miami (5100/3300): Chalk play here, but hard to resist against Blake Bortles and the Jags.

Baltimore (5000/2900): Some really good value here on DraftKings for just $2,900, as the Ravens are at the Raiders. Derek Carr looks like he's going to give it a go with his bruised hand.

Fades

Rob Gronkowski (8300/7300): Crazy expensive. He won't score three TD's again, against a tough Buffalo defense...I don't think.

Chris Ivory (6900/4700): Everyone loves Ivory after his 2 TD Week 1 game, but if you look at the numbers, Bilal Powell still saw a ton of work for the Jets. Powell had 12 to Ivory's 20 carries, but this week at Indianapolis expect to see a little more Powell in passing situations.

DeAndre Hopkins (8100/7400): Panthers CB Josh Norman has sneakily become one of the game's best.

Brandon Marshall (7400/6400): Vontae Davis.

Keenan Allen (8200/7100): Weird game last week. Chargers were down 21-3 quickly and came back to win. Rivers threw the ball 42 times and completed 35 of them. Allen received a ridiculous 17 targets! Ain't happening again. Plus, it's not an easy matchup at Cincy.
