Preparations Continue For Pope's Visit To Philadelphia

By Greg Argos

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- In just about a week, Pope Francis will be in Philadelphia, and people in the Fairmount area have mixed feelings as we get closer to His Holiness' arrival.

"I'm ready for it to be over," said one woman walking by.

"I think it's pretty cool what the city is doing," said another man.

"I will not be anywhere near here," said one woman who was walking though Eakins Oval.

As day turned dark, construction of the Papal stage and altar continued. Throughout the city, blue porta potties lined streets and even the entire length of the Chestnut and Walnut street bridges.

As construction continued, security preparations are in full swing.

"We know of no specific credible threat directed at the Pope's visit here to this city," said Jeh Johnson, the Secretary of Homeland Security.

"You have to have structure. If you don't have structure, you have mayhem," said Joe Clancy, Director of the United States Secret Service.

Montgomery County Sheriff Russell Bono says his department is ready in case any mayhem happens.  He has prepared his bomb squad to use a drone, which could be used during an emergency.
