Sixers Coach Brett Brown Offers Free Coaching Clinic At Lower Merion High School

By Matt Leon

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The NBA season is quickly approaching and Philadelphia 76ers head coach Brett Brown is warming up for it by holding a free coaching clinic for any and all area men's or women's, boys or girls basketball coaches.

The clinic will be held on Wednesday, September 16 at 7:30 p.m. at Lower Merion High School. The Sixers head coach breaks down what it will be all about.

"I call it a shot clock clinic, where we put five minutes on a clock," Brown says. "Somebody in the audience will ask a question about offense or defense or just some motivational, philosophical type question, whatever it is, and I'll do my best to answer it in that time frame."

Brown says they will have young players at the clinic, as well, to demonstrate drills or plays.

"I feel in that format you really do get a chance to cover a lot of ground," he says, "and give the audience a chance to ask questions, perhaps in a normal situation you might not get to."

Brown is preparing for his third season as the head coach of the 76ers.
