DFS Week 1: Top 3 Stacks

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- When competing in Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) bigger tournaments, "stacking" players is a viable, maybe even a necessary, strategy.

The most successful and common way to do this is select a quarterback and wide receiver/tight end from the same team---a team you expect to have a productive week, obviously.

Here are my top 3 stacks for Week 1:

3. Green Bay Packers: QB Aaron Rodgers with WR Davante Adams

Line: Green Bay - 7 at Chicago, o/u 50

Rodgers - $8,600 (DraftKings), $9,700 (Fan Duel)

Adams - $4,400 (DraftKings), $5,500 (Fan Duel)

This will likely be the most common stack of the week, but it should be a solid one. The Packers, according to Vegas, are expected to win 28.5-21.5. So, four touchdowns are a relatively safe bet for the Packers' offense against one of the worst defenses. Adams is the value play over Packers No. 1 WR Randall Cobb.

Under the radar Green Bay stack: TE Richard Rodgers with Rodgers.

2. New York Giants: QB Eli Manning with WR Odell Beckham Jr.

Line: New York Giants +6 at Dallas, o/u 51.5

Manning - $7,400 (DraftKings), $8,300 (Fan Duel)

Beckham - $9,200 (DraftKings), $8,900 (Fan Duel)

Giants WR Victor Cruz seems unlikely to play in this game, a Sunday night divisional opener in Dallas. The Cowboys have a banged up secondary and we all know about Beckham Jr. in primetime. The sky is the limit for him, literally. Plus, Vegas has the over/under at 51.5, a massive number.

Under the radar New York Giants stack: WR Reuben Randle with Manning

1. Philadelphia Eagles: QB Sam Bradford with WR Jordan Matthews

Line: Philadelphia -3 at Atlanta, o/u 55

Bradford - $6,900 (DraftKings), $7,500 (Fan Duel)

Matthews - $7,200 (DraftKings), $6,800 (Fan Duel)

The over/under on this game keeps going up and it's now at 55. Taking the Philadelphia bias out of the equation, I have no idea how Atlanta is going to stop the Eagles' offense. Bradford is a complete value play, the 16th cheapest QB on DraftKings and the best Week 1 DFS quarterback, if you ask me. Matthews is the most reliable Eagles WR to pair Bradford with, but others like Nelson Agholor, Riley Cooper, and even Miles Austin could pay off nicely.
