Hear Philly: The Shore Thing - Air Show, Car Festivals and Biking to the Beach

OCEAN CITY, N.J. (CBS) - Planes, cars and bikes make for an action packed post-Labor Day in Ocean City.
Michele Gillian with the Ocean City Chamber of Commerce says airplanes fly into town mid-September:
"The Airport Festival is a great festival where children can come down to our municipal airport, between 10am-3pm on September 12th, and they see ground displays, unusual airplanes and airplanes from World war II, and they actually get to go on there and talk to pilots and learn about flying."
The next day, Gillian says, is the Air Show on the Boardwalk between 6th and 14th Streets beginning at 1pm:
"You see some thrilling stunts by pilots and military demonstrations."
But that's not all that weekend. The Street Rod Festival also rides into Ocean City.
"The Street Rods are classic cars that are on display on the Boardwalk," explains Gillian.
This begins on September 12th as well, from 12n-4pm.
"They get to go up and see these really unique, classic cars," Gillian says, "and it's lots of fun and the street rods are all over Ocean City that whole weekend."
And if the street rods aren't enough, Gillian says the Corvette Show cruises into town the following weekend:
"We have over 350 corvettes that come and exhibit their models from all over the east coast."
They display on the Boardwalk from 6th to 10th Street on September 20th beginning at 11:30am.
"To see all those corvettes come up on the Boardwalk, 350 of them," Gillian says, "is a unique experience. They drive down, they're beautiful, you get to meet those owners, find out about history of the corvette."
And the Pope's visit to Philly delayed it a week , but in early October, Gillian says the annual MS Bikeathon returns:
"Over 7,000 cyclists come down from the Cherry Hill/Pennsylvania area and ride. They've raised over $5.6-million in Ocean City and it's a great experience for cyclers. It's a great experience to come see all the good things that MS does for the community as well as the Tri-State area."
Once the bikers get to Ocean City, there will be entertainment all throughout the boardwalk. This takes place October 3rd.
