Business Offers Monetary Incentive To Employees For Papal Weekend

By John McDevitt

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Due to road closures and other restrictions during the papal visit, it may be a bit challenging for customers and employees of businesses in and around Center City to get to.

One business just outside the traffic box security zone is offering an incentive to its workers.

The Sugarhouse casino along Delaware Avenue near Spring Garden Street is just outside the traffic box security zone and it's hoping business will be brisk.

To ensure operations run smoothly, the casino will be sweetening the pot for its employees.

"It's going to be interesting I don't think anybody knows exactly what to expect," says Sugarhouse's general manager Wendy Hamilton, "but we told our team members we are going to pay them time and a half to try and get here and work cause we know we are going to have some crowds in here and we are looking forward to it."

Hamilton says the Papal visit is a great honor for Philadelphia and Sugarhouse is very excited to represent the city.
