Oh, I Think That I've Found Myself A Song Of The Summer

By Ian Bush

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - As we kick off Labor Day weekend, there are many songs that will long remind us of the summer of 2015, for better or worse.

One tune, however, has been named the official 'earworm' of the season.

From the Jersey Shore to the white sands of the Carribbean, OMI sent us a breezy postcard of a song from Jamaica. 'Cheerleader' has been on repeat ever since.

"It has such a good vibe to it," says Bex, a DJ on KYW Newsradio's sister station, 96.5 AMP Radio in Philadelphia. "You can roll down the windows and listen to it on your way to the shore or the pool. It has this real beachy feel to it, it's just fun to listen to."

Happier, as we like our June-through-August to be, than the other major contender for Song of the Summer, the elegy for actor Paul Walker, 'See You Again' by Charlie Puth and Wiz Khalifa.

"Everybody has lost somebody before," Bex says. "So you can connect to it very well."

'Bad Blood' was just one of Taylor Swift's big hits and Trap Queen introduced us to 'Fetty Wap.'

"He was able to cross over and do pop music which I think is so interesting for a rapper to be able to do that," Bex says.

And the late-summer release by Silento of 'Watch Me' all but assures we'll be nae-naeing well into the winter.

"It's a song that brings families together," says Bex. "It's something you do at your family gatherings -- you start nae-naeing together."
