Philly Or Bust: An Argentinian Family's Epic Road Trip To See The Pope

By Ian Bush

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- It's a road trip to rule them all: a mom, dad, and four kids have packed into a VW bus and are heading from their home in Argentina to Philadelphia, in time for the Pope's visit.

We last caught up with them in April, when they were in Chile. Now, they're in northern Mexico.

After some trouble with their VW bus, Noel Zemborian, her husband Alfredo Walker, and their four kids, ages 2 through 12, rolled into Mexico, and are now about 350 miles from the Texas border.

"We should be in the states already," Zemborian says. "But because of the mechanical problems we had in Guatemala we are a bit behind, but it's OK. I think we'll arrive on time."

They have less than a month to get here, but this journey as a family is as much a reward as the destination.

"Meeting new people, new families, getting to know places, beautiful landscapes, many moments to share, to talk, to learn," she says.

They've been staying with people along the route who are inspired by the story and open their homes. "It's way beyond our expectations," she says.

Even her son and three daughters are hanging in there on this road trip to rule them all, making lists of all the new friends they meet and looking forward to seeing new places (when they're not asking "are we there yet?").

You can catch up with the family on their blog.
