Phillies Look To Avoid Sweep Tonight Against Mets
By Matt Leon
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Phillies will look to avoid a sweep tonight as they wrap up their four game series with the New York Mets at Citizens Bank Park.
Phils lost to New York last night, 9-4, as 42-year-old Bartolo Colon twirled seven shutout innings and the Mets pounded out 12 hits.
Tonight it will be Aaron Harang on the mound for the Phillies. The veteran right-hander is 5-14 this season with a 4.67 ERA. He did pitch well in his last start down in Miami, getting a no decision, allowing two runs on two hits in seven innings of work. In 15 career starts against the Mets, Harang is 6-7 with a 3.94 ERA.
New York will counter on the mound tonight with left-hander Jonathon Niese who is 8-9 here in 2015 with an ERA of 3.80. Niese has given the Phillies fits over the years, going 10-6 in 21 career starts against the Fightins' with a 2.77 ERA.
Here is the lineup for the Phillies tonight against Niese:
1. 2B Cesar Hernandez
2. 3B Andres Blanco
3. CF Odubel Herrera
4. RF Jeff Francoeur
5. LF Aaron Altherr
6. 1B Darin Ruf
7. C Carlos Ruiz
8. SS Freddy Galvis
9. P Aaron Harang
