WEATHER: Beginning Of Another Nice Stretch For Delaware Valley

 By Geoffrey Bansen

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A weak, slow moving cold front is continuing to push out to sea. As it does, clouds will give way to sunshine on Tuesday. Additionally, dew points will steadily drop throughout the day, so it will start to feel much more comfortable despite very warm temperatures. Looking ahead through the end of the week, it is smooth sailing! Wednesday through Saturday will all feature mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the low to mid 80's, with a few more clouds and warmer temperatures by the end of the weekend.

In the tropics, once Hurricane Danny has now begun to fizzle out down in the Caribbean, but on the heels of it's remnants is tropical storm Erika. Based on Erika's current extended outlook, it could pose much more of a threat to land. Should Erika withstand any wind shear it encounters down in the tropics and barring any landfall-based weakening, it could potentially strengthen and approach the southeast coast of the United States early next week.

This is by no means a warning, but certainly a message to keep an eye on the situation as it evolves. Today marks the 10 year anniversary of the 1st landfall of Hurricane Katrina, and it is a good time to remind people that it is important to always stay informed on these matters, especially if you reside near the ocean. It has, after all, been a very quiet hurricane season, which can often lead to people letting their guard down.
