Tony Wroten Is Fed Up With Sixers Being A 'Laughing Stock'

By Ray Boyd

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The slogan for the Sixers this upcoming season is "This Starts Now," which is a serious change-up from the "Together We Build," slogan they used the last two seasons.

Sixers guard Tony Wroten is certainly ready for things to start for his team and he expressed his frustration on Twitter on Tuesday night.

Wroten is clearly ready for the Sixers to be relevant this season and even though that might seem far-fetched considering all the jokes, it might be somewhat realistic.

With the addition of Jahlil Okafor and Nik Stauskas, and the assumed improvement for players like Nerlens Noel and Robert Covington, the Sixers could certainly make the jump to being respectable.

We saw a prime example of it a year ago when the Milwaukee Bucks went from the worst team in the league to the playoffs in one off-season.

Whether or not the Sixers actually see a serious improvement in the win column, it is a good sign to see this kind of confidence and hunger from the players. Some opponents of the "plan," argue that the constant losing will make the players settle for it, but the opposite appears to be happening.

Wroten stands as an example of a young player who has been working hard and is ready to see the fruits of his leader.

The high-energy guard is in a prime position to become the outspoken and emotional leader in the locker room and if that is to become the case, messages like this are a good start.
