82-Year-Old Pedestrian Struck And Killed In Delaware

LAUREL, D.E., (CBS) -- Delaware State Police are currently investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Tuesday afternoon involving a pedestrian. The incident occurred around 4:53 p.m.

According to authorities Robert C. Moore, 19, of Delmar, D.E. was driving a 2000 GMC Sierra pickup truck southbound in the right lane on Sussex Highway (US13). Police say an 82-year-old man was struck by the vehicle while crossing from the center median into the southbound lanes.

The 82-year-old man was transported to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Moore was transported to the hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries and released.
