SEPTA To Offer In-Person Sales Of One-Day Regional Rail Passes For Papal Visit

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – SEPTA has announced it will begin in person sales for one-day Regional Rail Papal passes on Friday, August 21.

SEPTA says the sales are aimed at giving individuals, businesses, groups, employees and others a chance to purchase the tickets, which are required for Regional Rail travel during the Papal visit on September 26 and 27.

Officials say the one-day Regional Rail passes are $10 each and individuals can buy up to 10 passes for each day.

SEPTA says it is more than doubling capacity on Regional Rail during the Papal visit to accommodate demand.

Purchases can be made during normal ticket office hours at most of the 18 outlying stations, Center City at Jefferson and Suburban Stations, according to SEPTA.

Sales will continue at the stations until Thursday, September 24, or until passes sell out.

SEPTA says it received requests around the globe during its online lottery, including France and Great Britain.

During the Papal visit, SEPTA says service will be available to Center City from its 18 outlying stations and outbound-only service will express back to the same outlying stations in the evening.

SEPTA says groups and organizations interested in bulk sales can email SEPTA at papalbulkpasses@septa.org.
