Petition: Pope Blessing For Sam Bradford's Knees

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The entire city of Philadelphia is praying Sam Bradford stays healthy this season.

The new Eagles quarterback, who was traded to Philly this Spring, has suffered two straight ACL tears playing just seven games in the last two years for the Rams. While no one is questioning Bradford's strong and precise arm, his knees are worrisome heading into the 2015-16.

But with Pope Francis set to come to Philly at the end of September (Week 3 of the NFL season), maybe he can bless Bradford's knees for us?

That's exactly what this Change.org petition is asking for.

"So, with one of the most religious representatives in the world visiting our wonderful place we call home, how about we get him to bless Bradford's knees during his visit to Philly!" the petition reads. "This town deserves a Super Bowl, and a healthy Bradford is the only way we will have a parade down Broad Street! Please sign this petition and Go Eagles and Welcome to Philly, Pope Francis!!!!"

There are already 488 supporters of the petition.

So you can stop praying for Bradford's knees now. Well, as long as you sign the petition, that is.
