Fire Rips Through North Philadelphia Restaurant, Apartments

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Fire ripped through a several apartments and a restaurant overnight in North Philadelphia.

Flames broke out around 1:15 a.m. Sunday inside a vacant apartment at a three-story building along the 2400 block of North Broad Street.

The fire quickly spread to another apartment above and to an Asian American take-out restaurant below.

Crews were able to bring the fire under control within 30 minutes, but the apartments and the restaurant were badly damaged.

There were no injuries reported.
