HERSHEY, Pa. (CBS) -- For anyone planning to get away from city and suburbs for the Papal weekend next month, there's one nearby destination where nostalgia reigns and the price is right.
Not many of us remember the two cent Hershey bar, but everyone has fond memories of the candy and its equally famous cousin, the Kiss. Nostalgia is the key in Hershey, Pennsylvania. And it's within two hours of home.
"We used to come here as a family when I was younger," said one visitor.
Philadelphia visitors I spoke with on a recent Hershey visit all recollect days of childhood and the connection.
So, what's this got to do with a Papal weekend getaway?
I've been tracking room availabilities and prices for that weekend. Of the likely nearby getaway options, right now Hershey looks best. Rooms can be had at brand hotels for as low as $80. Most are in the low-to-mid $100 range. Rooms at the resort hotel are available in the mid $200 to $300.
The park will be open, Chocolate World tours are free, and area golf courses, weather permitting, should have open tee times.
Escape the crowds and get away to the past.
