Report: Eagles Discussing 'Short-Term Extension' With Bradford
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It's only been two training camp practices, but apparently Sam Bradford looks pretty good.
According to ESPN reporter Ed Werder, the Eagles are already looking to lock Bradford up beyond the 2015-16 season. Bradford is currently in the final year of his rookie contract, scheduled to make $12.95 million.
"It is not expected the negotiations would result in a long-term contract but more likely an agreement providing the team control of Bradford past the 2015 season," Werder wrote.
Bradford, who has only played seven games in the last two seasons due to back-to-back ACL tears, was completely cleared at the start of training camp on Sunday, as "full-go."
Bradford has looked impressive at practice on Sunday and Monday.
"He can come in here and really make a difference," Garry Cobb said Tuesday of Bradford, on the 94WIP Morning Show. "Man, he was putting the ball where it needs to be. He throws a very catchable ball. It's 1-2-3 and that ball is out there and it's on the money.
"If he plays the way he's capable of and he stays healthy it's gonna be his [starting] job. And you can clearly see, he's got the upside, he's got the talent."

Former Eagles CEO Joe Banner says Bradford "would be crazy to do an extension at this point."
