Study Suggests Pears Are The Key To Preventing Hangovers

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- There are a ton of remedies for the not-so-desired feeling you get the next day after having one too many drinks. People tend to have their go-to solution, but new research suggests there might be another option to consider.

A new study from the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) suggests that pears might be the key to curing hangovers.

The study found that pears' anti-inflammatory properties can help to prevent hangovers.

However, do not think you can just eat a pear the next morning and the unpleasant state you're in will immediately improve.

According to the study, pears can work as a means to prevent a hangover and not necessarily cure it. Researchers suggest that your best bet to reap the benefits is to drink pear juice prior to consuming alcoholic beverages.
