Phillies Host Braves After Reported Cole Hamels Deal To Texas

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Phillies will be back home tonight to host the Atlanta Braves in the opener of a four-game series, but the game takes a back seat to the big deal the Phils put together late last night.

The Phillies reportedly sent LHP Cole Hamels and LHP Jake Diekman to the Texas Rangers. In return they get LHP Matt Harrison, who has battled back issues for the last few years, and five prospects.

It would appear to be a very good group of young players the Phils are getting that they can plug into their system in OF Nick Williams, C Jorge Alfaro and RHPs Alec Asher, Jake Thompson and Jerad Eickhoff. Williams, Alfaro and Thompson are the most highly regarded players in this group.

As for tonight's game, right-hander Aaron Harang returns from the DL to get the start on the mound for the Phillies. He is 4-11 and he brings an eight-start losing streak into this one. His mound opponent will be right-hander Shelby Miller, who is just 5-7, but he owns a 2.27 ERA.

Here is the Phillies lineup against Miller:

1. LF Ben Revere
2. 2B Cesar Hernandez
3. 3B Maikel Franco
4. 1B Ryan Howard
5. CF Odubel Herrera
6. SS Freddy Galvis
7. RF Domonic Brown
8. C Carlos Ruiz
9. P Aaron Harang

KYW's Matt Leon spoke with Stephen Gross of the Allentown Morning Call and Jay Floyd of Phillies Nation about the deal with Texas and the prospects the Phils picked up in the deal.
