Phils Open Two-Game Series In Toronto Tonight

By Matt Leon

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Phillies will look for a fifth straight victory tonight as they open a two-game series in Toronto against the Blue Jays.

The Phillies are 8-1 since the MLB All-Star Break and they are coming off a weekend sweep of the Cubs in Chicago. But despite this surge, the Phils still have the worst record in all of Major League Baseball at 37-63.

Rookie left-hander Adam Morgan will get the start for the Phillies on the mound. This will be his sixth start in the big leagues, he has gone 1-2 in the first five with a 4.28 ERA. He got a no-decision in his last start against the Tampa Bay Rays, allowing three runs on nine hits in 4 1/3 innings.

Toronto will counter on the bump with a left-hander in Felix Doubront. In four appearances with the Blue Jays this season, he is 1-0 with a 4.34 ERA.

Here is the lineup tonight vs. Doubront:

1. 2B Cesar Hernandez
2. CF Ben Revere
3. 3B Maikel Franco
4. RF Jeff Francoeur
5. DH Ryan Howard
6. 1B Darin Ruf
7. LF Cody Asche
8. SS Andres Blanco
9. C Cameron Rupp

While the Phillies are playing very good baseball right now, most of the attention is focused on Friday's 4:00pm non-waiver trade deadline and how active the Phillies will be. Most people expect LHP Cole Hamels and closer Jonathan Papelbon to be dealt.

Toronto has made a big deal with Colorado, acquiring shortstop Troy Tulowitzki in a multi-player deal. Does not sound like Tulowitzki will be in the starting line-up tonight for the Blue Jays.

KYW's Matt Leon spoke with CSNPhilly.com's Corey Seidman about what could happen by Friday's deadline and what he has seen out of Morgan so far.
