Gunfire In Philadelphia Leaves 3 Dead, 2 Others Wounded
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Police are investigating after three people were killed and two others were injured in separate shootings in Philadelphia.
Police say the first took place Wednesday night when a 20-year-old man sitting in front of his home was shot six multiple times. This happened around 10:45 p.m. at West Clearfield and North Howard Streets in the Fairhill section of the city.
The victim was struck twice in the head and taken to Temple Hospital where he was pronounced dead an hour later.
Police say early Thursday morning, a man in his mid to late 20's was shot in the street -- once in his head and once in his back -- on the 100 block of Colona Street. He was pronounced dead just after 1 a.m.
Around the corner, police say a 15-year-old boy was caught in crossfire and shot in the arm on the 100 block of Susquehanna Avenue. He was taken to St. Christopher's Hospital.
Police are treating the above two incidents as separate shootings for now, although they happened around the same time.
Another fatal shooting occurred on the 4600 block of Unruh Avenue just before 1:30 a.m. Thursday in the Tacony section of the city.
A 21-year-old was shot in the torso and pronounced dead on the scene, according to police. A 28-year-old was shot in the back and taken to Torresdale Hospital in critical condition.
Police are looking for three suspects wearing black hoodies in that double shooting.
All incidents remain under investigation.
