Vote: Do You Still Trust The Process?

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Saturday was the hardest day to trust the process since May 10th, 2013, the day Sam Hinkie was hired as Philadelphia 76ers president and general manager.

Saturday was the agonizing day we received the terrifying, but seemingly inevitable news, that 2014 No. 3 overall pick Joel Embiid would need season-ending surgery on his foot...AGAIN.

For the second straight season, Philadelphia's seven-foot, two-inch smooth-stroking imminent superstar will not play a game. And Hinkie's biggest supporters, even if for just a split-second, took a deep breath and began to wonder if this plan will ever work.

To their credit, the Sixers should be able to rebound from Embiid (even if he never plays a game), like a boxer taking a devastating blow to the stomach. It hurts, but the match isn't over.

With this year's first round selection in Jahlil Okafor, last year's best defensive rookie in Nerlens Noel, the addition of 2014 lottery shooter Nik Stauskas, the emergence of 6'9", 24-year-old sniper Robert Covington, and four potential first-round picks in 2016, hope is certainly not lost.

In fact, according to the Audio Roadshow poll held during Monday's 94WIP Mike & Ike Show (with Rob Charry and Reuben Frank), approximately 75-percent of voters still trust the process.
