Police Investigate Reported Sexual Assault In Overbrook

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police are investigating a reported sexual assault in Philadelphia's Overbrook neighborhood.

According to investigators, police were informed that at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday, a 26-year-old woman on her way to work was walking south on Cardington Street through the Cobbs Creek Golf Course towards West Chester Pike when she reportedly saw an unknown male walking in the opposite direction on the other side of the street towards her.

According to investigators, after the female passed the male he allegedly changed direction, came up behind her, grabbed her, and then dragged her onto a golf course behind some trees and assaulted her.

The male then reportedly fled north on Cardington Street towards Haverford Avenue, according to investigators.

There is no indication of any pattern at this time, according to police.

Investigators say the alleged offender is described as a Hispanic male, medium brown complexion, mid thirties, 5'3" to 5'5" tall, muscular build, close cut dark hair, clean shaven, wearing a white t-shirt.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Philadelphia Police at 911 or 215-686-TIPS.
