Gov. Christie Critical Of Potential Iran Nuclear Deal
NEW YORK (AP) — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie says a potential U.S.-led nuclear deal with Iran will ultimately enable that nation to develop an atomic weapon.
The Republican presidential candidate criticized the marathon negotiations during an appearance Monday on CBS This Morning.
An agreement would ease sanctions while imposing a decade of restrictions on Iran's nuclear program.
"The largest state sponsor of terrorism in the world is moving toward a nuclear weapon with the permission of the United States," Christie said. "It's outrageous. It's an outrageous thing to do."
Christie encouraged the U.S. to walk away from the talks and hit Iran with harder sanctions.
He says President Obama is more concerned with having an Iran deal in his legacy and that he'd consider undoing an agreement if he's president.
