Phillies' Wives Present New Recipe Collection In Cookbook

By Pat Toddy

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - If you want to eat like a professional baseball player or serve a dish that's MVP-worthy, the Phillies' wives say this is the book for you.

"From our Home to Yours" features 36 recipes from the Phils, and pictures of the finished creations so you get a visual.

Cody Asche's wife Angie -- a registered dietician -- took the lead in creating the cookbook that includes nutrition details -- a help for those with certain medical conditions.

"If someone is a diabetic, this is a great book because they can see exactly how many carbohydrates are in the dishes, or if they're watching their sodium if they have hypertension they can see exactly how many milligrams are in each dish," she says.

She says Asche's dish of Caribbean Jerk Chicken was inspired by the couple's honeymoon trip:

"Cody was craving some type of Caribbean food, so I tweaked it to make it a lot healthier and still have all this flavor. So that's the recipe we used because he loves it."

Ben Revere loves his mother's cooking, especially her mac and cheese. You'll get that recipe in the book, and Freddy Galvis makes Shrimp and Tilipia Ceviche look easy.
You'll also get a generous helping of personal tidbits about the players.

The Recipe Book is $19.99 and benefits Phillies charities. It's available at www.phillies.com or at the Majestic Clubhouse Store at Citizens Bank Park.
