Gloomy Weekend In Store For Delaware Valley

By Geoff Bansen

.
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - It is the first full weekend of summer, but it sure won't feel like it.

Skies have already been shrouded in clouds since Thursday afternoon, and will be sticking around for the next few days. While the morning rain has moved away, Friday will still be a mostly cloudy day. While there will also be an isolated shower around, there may be a few sunny breaks during the afternoon. Highs will approach 80, but may not get there depending on the amount of cloud cover

Conditions will continue to go down hill into Saturday. Clouds will dominate the entire day, with highs only in the low to mid 70s. It will turn breezy, with an onshore flow helping to limit daytime temperatures. Winds may gust as high as 30mph at times. By the late afternoon, wet weather will begin to move in. Expect a soaking rain Saturday night through Sunday morning, with rain amounts of 1-2" possible. If you have any outdoor plans, you will want to get them in as early as possible.

Showers will linger Sunday morning, but the remainder of the day is looking drier, with perhaps even brightening skies by the late morning. Sunday will certainly be the better day of the weekend in terms of outdoor activities.

Sunshine and warmer temperatures return on Monday, just in time to head back to work.
