Chad Ford: 'Very Tough To Get Accurate Intel' From Sixers

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Source! Report! Rumor! It's all you hear leading up to a draft, or "silly season," as Chip Kelly dubbed it.

Of course, with the NBA Draft approximately less than six hours away, speculation is rampant.

For example: The Lakers reportedly want D'Angelo Russell. If that happens, the Sixers could apparently swing a huge return for pick No. 3, possibly from the Celtics or the Knicks because they desperately want Jahlil Okafor.

When it comes to the Sixers, I don't buy any of it. Zero. And ESPN's NBA insider Chad Ford explained it further answering questions in a chat room on Thursday.

"But here's the truth, the Sixers are very tough to get accurate intel out of," Ford wrote, when asked about pick No. 3. "That's why things are all over the place.

"What the Sixers do I'm much less confident of. I think they go Russell, but yesterday I thought they'd go Mudiay. Tough to get good intel in Philly."

While the consensus seems to be the Sixers will choose between Russell and Mudiay, Ford explains trading back is certainly a possibility too.

"Sam Hinkie likes to get assets and he's trying out different things to see what could land them multiple assets. Russell, Mudiay and Porzingis are all guys they'd be happy with. If they get a future first and move down a few spots, they'd do it."
