Report: Saric Will Stay In Turkey For 1-2 More Seasons
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- You might not see Dario Saric in one of those new Philadelphia 76ers' uniforms until the 2017-18 season, and certainly not this season.
According to ESPN.com's Chad Ford, Saric will not play with the Sixers this season as his buyout is too expensive. Furthermore, Ford reports that while Saric has a player option to join the Sixers in 2016-17, "there will be a big incentive" for him to wait until 2017-18.
Ford says the Sixers drafted Saric expecting him to stay in Turkey for two seasons, at most.
The Croatian forward, the 2014 12th overall pick of the Sixers, signed a three-year contract with Anadolu Efes of the Turkish Basketball League days before being drafted.
With a new Collective Bargaining Agreement and TV deal coming in the NBA, patience would literally pay off for Saric.
