Nice Start, Wet Finish To Weekend

By Geoff Bansen

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Showers have begun to taper off across the Delaware Valley, leaving cloudy and damp conditions as you head out on Friday morning.

The sun will try its hardest to break through during the day, and it will to an extent. There will still be lots of clouds, but all in all it won't be a bad second half of the day. Temperatures will also be getting back to summer-like numbers, into the upper 80s -- about 10-15 degrees warmer than yesterday.

For the weekend, Saturday is certainly the better day. If you have any outdoor Father's Day plans, you will want to get them in on Saturday. Much of the day will be dry, with the exception of an isolated afternoon shower, certainly nothing like to the deluge Sunday will bring.

The remnants of Tropical Depression Bill are now making their way across the eastern half on the United States, after bringing flooding rains to parts of Texas and Oklahoma. It will eventually reach the Philadelphia area, still producing heavy downpours.

Much of the region will receive a good soaking during the first half of Sunday, with conditions trying to clear out just in time for dinner with dad.
