Allen Iverson On Working For The Sixers: 'I'm A Basketball Genius'

By Ray Boyd

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Allen Iverson did a lot for the Sixers during his playing days, but could he seriously contribute to the team in his post-playing days?

There have always been little conversations about Iverson working for the Sixers in some capacity involving the evaluation and selection of players. Recently, Larry Brown, Iverson's former coach, talked about Iverson's potential as an NBA front office executive and praised Iverson's talent evaluation skills and people skills.

But, does Iverson really want to work for the Sixers front office?

He addressed that idea on Thursday after the Sixers new uniform unveiling:

"I have a sharp mind when it comes to that look," Iverson said. What is that "look," you ask?

"Being able to look into somebody's eyes and tell if they're going to be in the foxhole with you tonight or if they're not."

Iverson made it clear, he's confident in his basketball knowledge.

"To me, I'm a basketball genius and I really believe that" Iverson said. "So, any capacity that I could help this franchise, that's what I'm going to do."

Sam Hinkie might have an Assistant GM ready and waiting to jump on board.
