Mother Of 3 Found Stabbed To Death Inside Logan Home

By John McDevitt and Matt Rivers

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police are looking for a man who allegedly killed his girlfriend inside of the woman's Logan home.

Authorities say when police gained entry to the home in the 4900 block of Warnock Street, they found a 28-year-old Brittany Green inside, stabbed to death in a upper floor bedroom.

Captain James Clark said, "She was stabbed multiple times and also had her throat slit. So it was a very vicious murder."

Police say they know who did it.  They are searching for the victim's long-term boyfriend, Gerrell Hall.

Witnesses said he fled the scene after the attack with the couple's three children, ages six, eight and 10. They were not injured.

Police say he dropped them at his mother's house and took off. Authorities say it was his mother who called 911.

Capt. Clark said, "He's been arrested several times for assaulting her.  He just recently got out of jail not too long ago."

Linda Green, the victim's mother, said, "My daughter was a good person. She was a loving mom. And a very hard worker."

She adds, "I'm begging y'all. Please help me find my daughter's killer.  Please."

Many on the block say they are saddened by the woman's death.

"I speak to her every day. I see her go to work every day. She has three small children and I feel this is a very sad and unfortunate situation that this had to happen."

For now, the search goes on for Gerrell Hall, who police say should be considered armed and dangerous.
