Two Free Tours At Scott Arboretum

By Phran Novelli

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - There's a free tour tonight at the Scott Arboretum and another one tomorrow morning. Tonight, at 7pm, you can take a guided tour to see highlights of the Arboretum. Since the Arboretum covers the campus of Swarthmore College, this is a great way to get to know the place if you've never been there before, and this tour is open to everyone.

Then, tomorrow, Thursday June 18th at 10:30am, enjoy a guided tour to see how a green roof looks and learn how it works. A green roof reduces your energy costs because the plants protect and insulate really well, while also absorbing rainwater and looking lovely. For the green roof tour, you need to be age 12 or older and able to handle the physical demands of a brisk walk and several steps to reach the final roof.

Both tours are free, last an hour and a half, and all you need to do is show up at the Scott Arboretum offices by the time the tours begin tonight at 7 or tomorrow morning at 10:30.

Here are details and directions to Scott Arboretum.
