Police Searching For 2 Suspects In Violent Home Invasion In Germantown
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police are searching for the suspects wanted in connection with a violent home invasion and robbery in Southwest Germantown.
The incident happened around 3:30 a.m. on Monday, June 15th on the 5000 block of Erringer Place.
Police say the 39-year-old male who lived in the apartment was going inside when he was confronted by two masked men who forced him to the ground and demanded money.
During the robbery, a 35-year-old woman reportedly exited her home and saw the robbery. That woman was also forced to the ground, and one of the suspects took her keys and ransacked her home.
The first victim was taken to a vehicle with a bag over his head by one of the suspects and the second victim was also put inside the car and told to keep her eyes shut.
After 10 minutes, the vehicle reportedly stopped and the victims were forced to get on the ground.
At that point, one of the victims overheard the suspect talking on the phone, stating, "We got the wrong guy."
After several hours, both victims were released near their homes on the 5000 block of Erringer Place.
An iPad, jewelry and $400 were stolen during the incident.
At least one of the males was captured on surveillance footage recovered from the scene.
The first suspect is described as a black male who is about 5'7" and was wearing a black ski mask and gloves.
The second suspect is also a black male, but there is no further information known about him.
